Open Social Learning

Posted by rorowe on September 17, 2009

Last night, I took part in Alec Couros’ EC&I831: Social Media & Open Education course as a non-credit participant. I come from an interesting point of view, having taught in public schools for about 6 years, then leaving to pursue private string instruction. In my 2 years since publicly teaching, I have embraced social media to participate in educational discussions, charity events (mostly taking place in Philadelphia, PA), environmental lifestyle changes, and some new hobbies.

While my new WordPress blog is only a small, first step, I hope to blog weekly about the assignments, readings, and my thoughts as the course progresses. I look forward to sharing my experiences with for-credit students and non-credit participants alike. More importantly, I’m looking forward to learning from everyone participating, as we all have different backgrounds, experiences, talents, and abilities.
